Cardio Barre® Simi Valley Melissa Collins, owner and operator of the Simi Valley franchise, discovered her love for dance at an early age while attending Waldorf Primary Academy in the San Fernando Valley. She went on to University of California, Los Angeles, where she majored in Modern dance, and danced professionally for the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, working in the interim with dance legend Joe Tremaine. In 2004, Melissa met her husband and business partner Jay Collins. They married in 2005, the same year they added their seventh (and final!) child to their brood. Riley Collins was born by Caesarean section, a procedure that put Melissa on bed rest. Looking for a system to help her lose the baby weight and regain the core strength she lost, she discovered CARDIO BARRE® through a friend and became an instant addict. By early 2007, she was discussing the possibility of owning her own franchise and signed contracts that November. Collins, who spent a whirlwind five months building the studio while receiving the very first CARDIO BARRE® instructor certification, opened the Simi Valley franchise on April 5, 2008. We are located next door to Trader Joe’s in the Target Center on Sycamore and Cochran, just off the 118 freeway. FREE child care is offered 7 days a week for ALL classes.
